Solution: AGV Routing
Client: One of the largest logistics companies in the United States.
The Challenge
Small packages arriving at the logistics center are sorted and transported to the outbound docks via conveyor belts. However, large and irregular items cannot use the conveyors and are therefore transported by Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs).
The challenge arises because multiple vehicles share the same routes and discharge points, making it essential to avoid AGV congestion.
The Objective
To synchronize the movement of all AGVs to prevent congestion and maximize the flow of irregular packages within the logistics center.
The Solution
We developed an artificial intelligence solution based on mathematical optimization that defines the movement of all AGVs simultaneously.
Results
Congestion was eliminated, allowing the system to operate as efficiently as possible.
